SASSA pays different grant types on different days each month. The payment order is designed to manage queues and ensure efficient distribution of funds:

The Social Relief of Distress (SRD) R370 grant has a different payment schedule from the main social grants:
- •SRD payments are typically processed between the 15th and 27th of each month
- •Individual payment dates vary from person to person
- •Check your specific payment date using the SASSA status check portal
- •Payments are made after monthly verification of eligibility
SASSA grants can be received through various methods:
Bank Account
Grants are deposited directly into your bank account. Available from midnight on your payment date.
SASSA Card
Collect from ATMs, retailers, or SASSA pay points using your SASSA card.
Post Office
Collect your grant at designated Post Office branches during working hours.
Cash Send / E-Wallet
For SRD grants, funds can be sent via mobile money services to collect at retailers.
- Payment dates may be adjusted if they fall on public holidays. SASSA will announce any changes.
- Bank deposits are usually available from midnight on the payment date.
- If your payment does not reflect, wait 3 working days before contacting SASSA.
- Never share your PIN or banking details with anyone claiming to be from SASSA.
- Uncollected grants remain available for up to 3 payment cycles before being suspended.
