War Veterans Grant
The War Veterans Grant honors and supports South African citizens who served in World War I, World War II, or the Korean War.
The War Veterans Grant is a special social grant provided by SASSA to honor and support South African citizens who served in specified military conflicts. This grant recognizes the sacrifice and service of veterans who fought to defend South Africa and its allies.
The grant provides a slightly higher amount than the standard Older Persons Grant, reflecting the nation's gratitude for military service. War Veterans also receive priority treatment at SASSA offices and may be eligible for additional benefits.
Due to the historical nature of the qualifying conflicts (World War I, World War II, and the Korean War), the number of eligible veterans continues to decrease, but SASSA remains committed to supporting those who qualify.
